Frequently Asked Questions

Thinking of hiring a VA but still have questions?

Totally understandable. When you’re running a business, there are a lot of moving parts and bringing someone new into your world is a big step. These FAQs are here to make things feel clearer and lighter, and to give you a real sense of how I work, so you can choose the kind of support that feels right for you. And if there’s anything I haven’t covered, just drop me a message and we can chat!

  • A Virtual Assistant (VA) is a remote professional who provides administrative, operational and creative support to businesses. Instead of hiring an in‑house employee, you can work with a VA as and when you need them - giving you flexible, high‑quality support without the overheads.

A VA can help with tasks like inbox and diary management, admin, content support, organisation, project coordination and the day‑to‑day details that keep your business running smoothly.

It’s a simple way to lighten your workload, create more space in your day and stay focused on the work that matters most.

  • We begin with a short call to understand what you’re juggling, what you need and how you like to work. From there, agree the best way forward and confirm next steps.

  • Anything that keeps your business running smoothly behind the scenes - from inbox and diary management to content support, operations, admin and project coordination. If you’re unsure whether something fits, just ask.

  • That’s completely normal. We will work together to identify quick wins, recurring tasks and areas where support will make the biggest difference.

  • Most communication happens via email, with optional weekly check‑ins if needed. You can also message me on WhatsApp for quick requests. I’m also happy to use your existing communication tools to keep things simple and streamlined.

  • I’m comfortable with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Canva, Asana, ClickUp, Slack, Zoom and a wide range of business tools. I’ll happily adapt to the systems you already use.

  • My focus is business support, but if a personal task is connected to your workday (e.g., travel, scheduling, organisation), I’m happy to help where appropriate.

Working Together

  • In most cases, no - working with a VA t is far more cost‑effective than hiring an employee.

With a VA, you only pay for the hours you need. There are no employment costs, no holiday pay, no sick pay, no pension contributions, no equipment, and no downtime. You get focused, high‑quality support without the overheads or long‑term commitment of bringing someone in‑house.

For many small businesses and founders, this makes a VA a smarter, more flexible and more affordable option.

  • Both. If you need help with a specific task or short‑term project, ad‑hoc support is ideal. If you want consistent, proactive support each month, a package offers better value and guaranteed hours.

  • Ongoing packages run on a rolling one‑month contract, giving you consistent support without a long‑term tie‑in. Ad‑hoc work has no commitment at all, making it ideal for one‑off tasks or short‑term needs.

  • If you need additional support during a busy period, extra hours can be added at your package rate (subject to availability). We can also adjust your package if your needs change.

  • To keep things fair and consistent, unused hours don’t roll over. This ensures I can reserve dedicated time for every client each month.
